A 15-year-old male youth is to appear in court later today following an unlawful entry at a licensed establishment on Cavenagh Street this morning.

Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Stringer said staff were enjoying a well earned knock off drink when they witnessed the alleged offender inside the establishment after closing time.

“When confronted, the offender fled the scene. Staff members chased the offender and also observed another offender flee the scene,” Detective Senior Sergeant Stringer said.

“Police attended the venue and viewed the internal CCTV footage, obtaining a description of the offenders.

“A short time later, one of the offenders was located on Knuckey Street by a sharp eyed CCTV Operator.

“Police attended and arrested the youth. He has been charged with aggravated unlawful entry, property damage and breach of bail.

“He will appear in the Darwin Youth Justice Court later today.”

Police are currently searching for the outstanding co-offender.
