Alice Springs Police have arrested and charged a 25-year-old man in relation to an alleged stealing incident yesterday.

Detective Senior Sergeant Peter Malley said the alleged offender approached a 13 and 14-year-old female outside Yeperenye Centre at around 7pm.

“The offender allegedly stole their mobile phones and assaulted the 14-year-old girl before fleeing the scene.

“Police arrested the man a short time later and charged him with aggravated assault and robbery."

He will appear in the Alice Springs Magistrates Court today.
