Northern Territory Police believe a body found this morning in Virginia is that of 64 year-old Patricia Hastie, who went missing from her residence on Wednesday, May 29th 2013.

The body was found in thick scrubland about half a kilometre from where she was last seen.

Police do not consider the death to be suspicious.

Her family have been informed.

Superintendent Matt Hollamby said it was a sad result.

“The Northern Territory Police send our deepest condolences to the family of Mrs Hastie and would like to thank all the volunteers and members of the public who assisted and took part in the search.”
