Police are calling on assistance from the public in relation to a robbery which occurred in Tiwi Saturday morning.

Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Stringer said a 27-year-old male was walking along Tambling Terrace at around 1:50am when he was approached by a male.

“It is alleged the male punched the victim to the face and demanded money,” Detective Senior Sergeant Stringer said.

“The offender fled the scene on foot with approximately $300 worth of cash.

“He is described to be of Aboriginal appearance, approximately 180cm tall, slim build, short dark hair and scruffy in appearance. At the time of the offence, he was wearing a baggy brown or red coloured t-shirt and black cargo pants.

“Anyone who may recognise this man, or who may have witnessed the incident, is urged to contact Police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.”
