Members from Strike Force Vega have arrested two males aged 16 and 18 in relation to an unlawful entry and stealing incident at a supermarket in Gillen this morning.

Detective Superintendent Brent Warren said five offenders allegedly used a stolen Holden Rodeo utility during a ‘ram raid’ at a supermarket on Flynn Drive at around 12:30am this morning.

“The offenders allegedly stole around $6,000 worth of stock including soft drinks, cigarettes and spirits as well as a small amount of cash. During their get away the offenders collided with a security vehicle – fortunately the driver was not hurt.

“Police arrested the two males, recovered a quantity of stolen alcohol and the stolen Holden Rodeo.

“The offenders remain in Police custody at this time.”
