Three arrested for unlawful entry – Howard Springs

Strike Force Trident Detectives have arrested three people following the theft of approximately $140,000 worth of cash and jewellery.

Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Stringer said the home owner returned home at approximately 5pm Wednesday to discover the unlawful entry and theft.

“It appears offenders broke into the house and tried using a grinder to open a safe, however were unsuccessful. The thieves then searched the house and stole around $80,000 in cash and $60,000 jewellery,” Detective Senior Sergeant Stringer said.

“Following up on leads, Police searched a room at a hotel in The Gardens and located the three living the high life. The room was searched and the majority of the stolen items were recovered in addition to a large quantity of methamphetamines.”

Three people, a woman aged 29 and two men aged 32 and 43, were arrested. 

The 32-year-old man has been charged with aggravated unlawful entry, stealing, damage property, trespass, possess schedule 2 drug (trafficable quantity), possess thing to administer dangerous drug, administer dangerous drug and breach of bail. He received Magistrates bail to attend court on 1 August.

The 29-year-old female was released and will be summonsed to court.

The 43-year-old male was released pending further enquiries.
