Alice Springs Police have arrested a 12-year-old male in relation to an unlawful entry and stealing incident at Santa Teresa Police Station.

Commander Kate Vanderlaan said the youth allegedly unlawfully entered the station and stole a Police vehicle at around 5pm, Saturday 6 July.

“Police located the vehicle near Amoonguna after it had crashed into a tree. The driver has then left on foot and was seen heading in the direction of the Gun Club at around 6pm.

“The vehicle sustained significant damage to the front and radiator as a result of the crash.

“The offender was later arrested by Police on foot patrol at the Alice Springs Show. He remains in Police custody and is assisting with enquires. “
