A 19-year-old woman is to appear in court following a cannabis seizure in Numbulwar yesterday.

Remote Sergeant Matt Marshall said Numbulwar Police, acting on information provided by the public, conducted a search on a bus travelling into the remote community.

"Members located approximately 260grams of cannabis, in seven cryovac bags, in a pillow case belonging to a 19-year-old woman,” Sergeant Marshall said.

“The woman was arrested and charged with possession of a trafficable quantity of cannabis and supply cannabis. 

“She has been bailed to appear in Numbulwar court at a later date.” 

If these drugs had reached the community of Numbulwar or Groote Eylandt, it could have netted this alleged offender approximately $25,000.
