Serious Crime Detectives have charged a 26-year-old woman after making a false report to Police
Commander Richard Bryson of the Crime and Specialist Service Command, said the woman reported to Police she had been assaulted and robbed along the Kakadu Highway on Thursday morning, 29 August.

“At around 9pm last night the woman admitted to Police she had fabricated her story.
“Investigations have established the woman crashed her hire car into a tree near Jabiru causing extensive panel damage to the vehicle.
“The injuries the woman alleges occurred during the assault were in fact injuries sustained earlier whilst swimming at Florence Falls.”
She has been charged with a number of offences including:
Making a false declaration (x2)
Drive without due care
Fail to report crash
She has been remanded in custody to appear in Darwin Magistrates Court on Monday, 2 September.
