Strike Force Halberd - Update - Alice Springs

Police have made over 100 arrest during the first eight weeks of an operation targeting domestic violence in Alice Springs.

Detective Senior Sergeant Peter Malley said members from Strike Force Halberd have made 105 arrests in relation to 252 offences and served 64 Domestic Violence Orders.

This week Police made a further four arrests including:

A 34-year-old man charged with aggravated assault (x2) and armed with an offensive weapon;

A 39-year-old man with aggravated assault;

A 40-year-old man with armed with an offensive weapon and aggravated assault and;

A 49-year-old man with engage in conduct that contravenes a Domestic Violence Order and trespass.

“This dedicated Strike Force is committed to reducing domestic violence in Alice Springs and Police will continue to work with their family and community members to bring those responsible to justice.”
