Alleged Attempted Abduction - Charges Laid

Northern Territory Police have charged a 33 year-old male over the alleged attempted abduction of a 10 year-old girl in Woodroffe.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Karen Sanderson from the Sex Crimes Squad said the man was charged overnight.

“The man has been charged with one count of attempt deprivation of liberty and one count of possess a controlled weapon.

“Police continue to ask anyone who may have witnessed a black or dark coloured small vehicle in the area of Woodroffe Avenue and Zenith Circuit between the hours of 2.30 and 3.30pm on Tuesday 22 October to please contact them on 131 444 or call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.”

The man has been bailed to appear in the Darwin Magistrates Court on 20 November, 2013.
