Detectives from the Tennant Creek Investigation Unit have charged a 33-year-old man with the aggravated assault of a 33-year-old woman.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Andrew Bedwell said the offender allegedly struck the victim to the head with a glass bottle at a residence in Tennant Creek on Thursday 28 November.

“The woman was taken to Tennant Creek Hospital to receive treatment for her injuries.”

The alleged offender was arrested a short time later and charged with:

Aggravated assault

Breach of bail

Armed with an offensive weapon.

“He has been remanded in custody and will appear in Alice Springs Magistrates Court on 5 December.”
