An off duty Police Officer has today been issued with a Notice to Appear in the Darwin Court of Summary Jurisdiction after crashing his motorcycle into the rear of a stationary vehicle in Palmerston last week.

The rider has been summonsed to appear on 13 January 2014 for;

• Drive medium range blood alcohol content
• Drive without due care

This matter is now the subject of an internal investigation to be conducted by the Northern Territory Police Professional Standards Command.

There are no further details available while the internal disciplinary process continues, and the matter is before court.
