Detectives from the Sex Crimes Unit have arrested a 19-year-old man in relation to the alleged sexual assault of a 21-year-old woman in Darwin City early this morning.

Detective Sergeant Andrew Kren said the offender allegedly sexually assaulted the woman in a park on Wood Street at around 2am.

“The offender was arrested a short time later and remains in Police custody.

“Police urge anyone who may have witnessed a man wearing shorts and no shirt in the vicinity of Wood Street at around 2am, or anyone with further information to contact Police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.”
