Members of the Strike Force Viridian have charged a 35 year old man in relation to the alleged assault of his 37 year old partner in Leanyer.

Detective Acting Superintendent Neil Hayes from the Sex Crimes Division said the alleged offender assaulted the woman at her residence in Leanyer yesterday.

“He was arrested by Police and charged with:

Aggravated assault and issued with a Domestic Violence Order (DVO).

“He has been remanded in custody to appear in Court later today

“Strike Force Viridian will continue to target domestic violence in line with the principals of The Northern Territory Domestic Violence Strategy - Project Respect – Enforce, Engage and Empower,” he said.
