Four Charged with Property Offences Nhulunbuy

Nhulunbuy Police have charged four males in relation to a number of property offences on Sunday.

Acting Superintendent Brendan Muldoon of the Arafura Division said the alleged offenders aged 17, 19, and 25 unlawfully entered a residence in Nhulunbuy and stole a quantity of alcohol at around 9pm.

“Police allege the men stole a Nissan Patrol Station 4WD from a separate residential address in Nhulunbuy.

“Police located the vehicle abandoned on a dirt track. The three males were arrested a short time later at a sports oval. Police will allege the males were consuming alcohol in an Alcohol Restricted Area.”

The three males have been charged with:

Unlawful use of a motor vehicle

Stealing

Trespass on premises

Possess liquor in a restricted area

Consume liquor in a restricted area.

The 17-year-old has also been charged with:

Drive under the influence of alcohol

Drive a motor vehicle unlicensed.

All three have been remanded in custody to appear in Darwin Court  tomorrow. 

In a separate matter, Nhulunbuy Police arrested a 22-year-old male in relation to an unlawful entry and stealing incident on Sunday.

“Police alleged the offender unlawfully entered a licensed premise and stole a quantity of alcohol

“He was arrested and charged with aggravated unlawful entry with intent to commit an offence and stealing.”

He will appear in Nhulunbuy Court on 4 February.
