Attempted Sexual Assault – Call for Witnesses – Alice Springs

Police are calling on assistance from members of the public following an attempted sexual assault in Alice Springs.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Leith Phillips said the incident occurred on George Crescent between 8pm-11pm last night.

“It is alleged the 21-year-old female victim was sitting outside a unit complex on George Crescent when she was approached by an unknown male,” Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Phillips said.

“The male assaulted the woman and dragged her a short distance further down the street where he has attempted to sexually assault her.

“It is believed a vehicle has driven by at this time, disturbing the offender.”

The offender is described to be of Aboriginal appearance, approximately 168cm tall and aged in his early twenties. He is of slim build with facial hair and had a dark messy ‘mullet’.

At the time of the offence he was wearing a black short sleeved t-shirt with graffiti style text across the front and dark blue jeans.
