Missing Barkly Work Camp Prisoner Hands Himself In - Tennant Creek

Tennant Creek Police have arrested a 35-year-old man after he presented at the front counter of the Police Station today.

The man was the last of six men who walked out of the Barkly Work Camp on Monday night to be found.

Superintendent Daniel Bacon said the 39-year-old wife of the man will be charged with aiding the escape and harbouring him while he was at large.

“The man will be charged with escape lawful custody.

“I would like to thank the members of the Tennant Creek community who were forthcoming with information to Police.

“Through this information and extensive Police enquiries, the man decided to hand himself in.

“We were very happy with the help and response we received from the people of Tennant Creek during the search for the missing men.”
