Graffiti Vandals Target Alice Springs Mall

Police

Northern Territory Police are investigating the vandalising of several signs and shopfronts in the Todd Street Mall over the weekend.

Watch Commander Siiri Tennosaar said two males aged 19 and 21 have been spoken to by Police.

“Reports about graffiti have been coming in since Sunday and Police urge all business owners or people affected by this vandalism to contact Police on 131 444.

“Police have been cataloguing the damage which stretches from Todd Street, through the Mall to near the corner of Parsons Street and Leichhardt Terrace.

“Charges of unlawfully damaging property are likely on completion of our inquiries.”

Watch Commander Tennosaar said mindless vandalism such as this is expensive to remove and causes unnecessary stress to business owners.

“This is not a victimless crime and offenders can expect to be prosecuted if they continue to disrespect property in this manner.”

Victims of graffiti damage should report the vandalism to Police as soon as possible.
