Methamphetamine Seizure - Darwin

Drugs and Organised Crime Detectives have arrested a 30-year-old woman after a search warrant uncovered methamphetamines and cash in a Cullen Bay apartment yesterday.

Detective Senior Sergeant Chris Board said Police will allege the woman was supplying methamphetamine.

“Approximately 60 grams of methamphetamine, $22,900 cash and drug paraphernalia including electronic scales and clip seal bags were seized.

“The woman has been charged with possess a commercial quantity of methamphetamine, supply commercial quantity of methamphetamine and receive property derived by the commission of an offence.

“She was remanded in custody to appear this morning in the Darwin Magistrates Court.”

Detective Senior Sergeant Board said the Drug and Organised Crime Squad will continue to aggressively target the sale and supply of methamphetamine in the Northern Territory.

“This drug has the potential to seriously affect the health of those using it, with many becoming violent, erratic and paranoid.

“We have a zero tolerance to anyone dealing or using this schedule one dangerous drug and warn those involved in the trade of methamphetamines that you will be caught and you will be charged.”
