MDMA and Methamphetamine Seizure Darwin City

Drugs and Organised Crime Detectives have arrested a 29-year-old man after a search warrant was executed at a Darwin city apartment yesterday afternoon resulting in the seizure of MDMA (commonly known as ecstasy), methamphetamine and cash.

Officer in Charge of the Drug and Organised Crime Squad Detective Senior Sergeant Chris Board said Police will allege the man was supplying MDMA and methamphetamine.

“874 MDMA pills, 38 grams of methamphetamine and $15,000 cash were seized.

“The man has been charged with supply and possess a commercial quantity of MDMA, possess trafficable quantity of methamphetamine, supply methamphetamine and receive property derived by the commission of an offence.

“He has been remanded in custody to appear in the Darwin Magistrates Court on Monday.”

“The Drug and Organised Crime Squad have a dedicated team of detectives who target the supply of illicit drugs from reaching our streets.

“This seizure and arrest again highlights our commitment to disrupt these criminal enterprises involved in the supply of illicit drugs in the Northern Territory.

“We will continue to identify and arrest those involved. Assistance from the community is urged and if you have information relating to illicit drugs call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000. Any information provided will be treated in the strictest of confidence,” Detective Senior Sergeant Board said.

The man has been remanded in custody to appear in the Darwin Magistrates Court tomorrow.
