Northern Territory Police are investigating a helicopter crash which occurred near Cape Crawford this morning.

Superintendent Sachin Sharma from the Arnhem and Western Division said the incident occurred at a station near Heartbreak Hotel at around 7:30am.

“A man in his 30s was trapped and staff from the Borroloola medical clinic with Fire and Emergency Response Group attended the scene and rescued the man. He will be medevaced to Darwin this afternoon.

“A crime scene has been established and investigations to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the incident are ongoing,” Superintendent Sharma said.
