Strike Force Trident have arrested 33 people during an operation targeting recidivist property offenders on bail.

Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Stringer said the operation commenced on 28 March and also included members from the Metropolitan Patrol Group and General Duties.

“The operation was a Strike Force Trident initiative stemming from a recent increase in property crime across Darwin and Palmerston.

“The operation wrapped up today with Police laying 185 charges including unlawful entry, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, criminal damage, stealing, assault, breach of bail and traffic and drug offences.

“Police also conducted 130 bail checks and issued four summons notices.

“We will continue to relentlessly pursue people engaging in this kind of offending,” Detective Senior Sergeant Stringer said.

“I urge anyone who may have information about alleged offenders who have breached their bail conditions or failed to appear in court to contact Police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers 1800 333 000.”
