Strike Force Vega’s crack down on property related crime in Alice Springs has resulted in 77 arrests in the last three months.

Detective Acting Superintendent Peter Malley said in addition to the arrests, made Police have also cleared 563 offences and issued 35 summonses.

“During this time the members have achieved great results in their efforts to reduce property crime.

“In the last week members made a further three arrests including a 15 year old male charged with trespassing, property damage and interfering with a motor vehicle and a 14 year-old for breach of bail.

“Property crime in Alice Springs has also remained at a four-year-low for the past eight months.

“Strike Force Vega is an ongoing operation and we will continue to target criminal activity linked to property crime offending in Alice Springs.
