Two men aged 35 and 33 have been charged following the assault of three Police Officers in Tennant Creek on Wednesday night.
Detective Sergeant Andrew Bedwell said the Officers were assaulted outside a residence on Limonite Street at around 10:30pm after the driver of a vehicle failed to comply with Police direction.
“Both men were taken into custody and have since been charged with numerous offences.”
The 35-year-old man was charged with:
Drive in the NT – disqualified interstate (QLD)
Recklessly endanger cause serious harm
Fail to comply with direction of a Police Officer
Hinder/resist Police
Assault Police Officer – cause harm (x2)
Engage in violent disorder
Breach bail.
The 33-year-old man was charged with: Hinder Police Resist Police Assault Police Officer – Cause harm Engage in violent disorder. Breach of bail.
Both men have been remanded to appear in the Tennant Creek Court on Monday, 7 April.
