A 27-year-old man will appear in court today, after he allegedly set fire to a vehicle in Moulden last night.

Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Stringer from Strike Force Trident said the offender allegedly attended a residence in Moulden at around midnight and threw rocks at a Toyota Hilux parked outside, smashing the vehicle’s windows.

“The offender fled the area but returned at around 2am and allegedly set fire to the Toyota Hilux completely destroying the vehicle.

“Police arrested the man a short time later and charged him with unlawful damage to property and arson.

“Arson is a serious crime and it was a good result for Police to have a swift arrest.”

He was remanded in custody and will appear in Darwin Magistrates Court today.
