Stolen Motor Vehicles - Update - Alice Springs

Southern Investigation Detectives have charged an 18-year-old male in relation to the theft of a motor vehicle in Alice Springs on Monday night.

Detective Senior Sergeant Peter Malley said Police allege the offender unlawfully entered a motor vehicle business on the North Stuart Highway and stole a Ford Mondeo.

“He was arrested early yesterday morning and charged with:

Aggravated enter building with intent

Damage to property

Stealing

Aggravated unlawful use of a motor vehicle

Unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

“He will appear in Alice Springs Magistrates Court today.

“Enquiries are continuing in relation to the theft of three motor vehicles from an organisation in The Gap on Monday night.

“The two outstanding vehicles, a Ford Ranger and Toyota Corolla, were recovered by Police east of Alice Springs yesterday completely destroyed by fire.”
