The Northern Territory Police Gangs Taskforce have arrested and charged a 44-year-old member of an Outlaw Motorcycle Gang (OMCG)

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Joe Carbone from the Drug and Organised Crime Squad said the alleged offender was charged yesterday with aggravated assault causing serious harm.

“A 36 year-old man attended the OMCG clubhouse last month and was allegedly assaulted by the 44-year-old male offender.

“The victim was knocked unconscious and suffered a severely fractured leg.

“The victim, who was invited to attend the clubhouse for a social gathering, has been unable to work for several weeks, resulting in significant personal and financial loss.

“The message here is clear; people who attend these clubhouses are putting their personal safety at risk.

The defendant was bailed to appear in the Darwin Magistrates Court on June 10.
