The Northern Territory road toll now stands at 13 following a fatal crash west of Katherine.

Territory Duty Superintendent Joanne Foley said the single vehicle crash happened 25 kilometres west of Katherine on the Victoria Highway at about midday today.

“Members from Katherine have attended the scene and a man, believed to be in his 40’s, was found outside the vehicle.

“At this stage it appears the male was the only occupant of the vehicle.

“Police from Northern Traffic Operations are investigating.”

The death takes the 2014 road toll to 13 compared to 9 at the same time in 2013.
