Police Officer facing court - Alice Springs

Northern Territory Police have today charged a police officer with a number of traffic related charges.

An investigation undertaken by Detectives from Major Crime and the Professional Standards Command will allege serious breaches of discipline and criminal offences have been committed.

 The charges relate to a single vehicle roll over in Alice Springs early yesterday morning involving a stolen vehicle.

 A 40-year-old Constable has been charged with fail to rescue, fail to stop after a crash, fail to render assistance.

The Officer has been suspended from duty and will face court at a later date.

A 20 year old probationary constable is currently assisting with the investigation.


As this matter is currently before court, no further information will be released.
