Police from the Major Crash Unit are continuing their investigation into a three vehicle crash that occurred yesterday afternoon on the Stuart Highway.

Senior Sergeant John Worrall said a 29-year-old man passed away as a result of the crash.

“Early investigations indicate the male driver of a blue Toyota Hilux was travelling inbound near the intersection of Woolner Road when he crashed into two vehicles turning right onto the Stuart Highway.

“Two men and a woman were taken to Royal Darwin Hospital.

“Part of the Stuart Highway near the intersection of Woolner Road was closed last night but has since been reopened to traffic.

“Investigations into the exact circumstances surrounding the crash are ongoing and Police urge anyone who may have witnessed the crash, or anyone who may have any information, to contact them on 131 444."

A file will now be prepared for the Coroner.
