Serious Harm Charges - Alice Springs

Northern Territory Police have arrested a 49-year old man in relation to a serious harm incident in Alice Springs on Saturday morning.

Detective Senior Sergeant Peter Maley said Police were calling for witnesses to an incident near the Alice Springs Golf Course sometime before 9am on Saturday.

“A 39-year-old female has been left with critical injuries and is currently in a stable condition in the Royal Adelaide Hospital.”

Detective Senior Sergeant Maley said initial investigations suggest the woman was struck by a vehicle allegedly being driven by the 49-year-old man.

“The vehicle has been seized and investigations are continuing.

“The man has been charged with driving a motor vehicle causing serious harm and drive while disqualified.

“He will appear in the Alice Springs Magistrates Court this morning.”
