A 54-year-old man has passed away in Royal Darwin Hospital following an assault at a residence in Karama on Friday, 4 July.

A 46-year-old man was charged with the assault and appeared in Darwin Magistrates Court yesterday.

The charges before court remain unchanged at this stage and investigations are continuing surrounding the circumstances of the man’s death.

He was granted bail to appear again on 3 September 2014.
