A 24-yearold man will appear in Alice Springs Magistrates today charged with drug offences following a routine search on a bus travelling from Adelaide.

Detective Sergeant Dave Hamlyn from the Southern Substance Abuse Intelligence Desk said Drug Detector Dog Wilson provided a positive result to a bag belonging to a 24-year-old man in Alice Springs yesterday.

“Police located and seized 1.36 kilograms of cannabis contained in three large cryovac bags

“The man was arrested and charged with possession of a schedule 2 dangerous drug.” He was remanded in custody and is expected to appear in court early today.
