Police have located a body in the search for missing man Michael Callahan.

At approximately 3.00pm today Police located a body within the National Park approximately 8kms to the east of the Drovers Rest Campsite.

Commander Bruce Porter from Northern Command said the body was found by searching parties but formal identification is yet to occur. 

Police will be preparing a file for the Coroner.

There is no further information at this time.
