Youths Charged for Escape Custody - Darwin

Police advise that all five of the youth escapees have now been charged with numerous offences.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Annette Cooper from the Serious Crime Squad said Police established a targeted operation to locate and apprehend the group following their escape from custody on Saturday night.

The five youths were arrested and have been charged with a number of offences, including:

  • Armed with an offensive weapon
  • Engage in violent conduct
  • Unlawful use of a motor vehicle
  • Unlawful entry Assault a person in execution of duty
  • Escape lawful detention

The youths are to be remanded in custody until their next court appearance dates in September.

Police would like to thank members of the public for their assistance during the search.
