Southern Investigation Detectives have charged a 45-year-old woman for allegedly stabbing a 51-year-old woman last night.

Detective Senior Sergeant Peter Dash said the two women were at a residence in the Alice Springs CBD when they became involved in an altercation at around 11pm.

“Police allege the offender stabbed the victim in the foot, leg, back and head. The woman was taken to Alice Springs Hospital where she remains in a stable condition.

“The offender was arrested at the scene and remains in Police custody. She is expected to be charged with intent to cause serious harm and cause serious harm.”
