A 28-year-old man will appear in court today in relation to the assault of a 45-year-old man.

Detective Acting Sergeant Jakson Evans said the two men were at a residence in Tivendale at around 2am Sunday morning, when the offender struck the victim causing him to fall to the ground.

“The victim remains in a critical but stable condition in Royal Darwin Hospital.

“The 28-year-old man was charged with negligently causing serious harm.”

He was remanded in custody and will appear in Darwin Magistrates Court.
