Police

Strike Force Vega Detectives continue in their endeavours of keeping people safe through the recovery of a quantity of stolen property in Alice Springs today.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Leith Phillips said Police allege two youths aged 14 and 15, unlawfully entered a residence in Larapinta on 14 August and stole electronic devices, money and alcohol.

“Police executed a search warrant at a residence in The Gap last Friday and a second warrant at a residence in Larapinta today and recovered three iPads. Two iPads were from the unlawful entry on the 14. The third iPad is also alleged to be stolen.”

The two youths were arrested and charged with criminal damage, unlawful entry and stealing.

They have been remanded in custody to appear in Alice Springs Youth Justice Court on 28 August and 8 September.

“It is great to be able to recover stolen property and return it to the rightful owners. Thieves who commit crimes against people in their own homes need to know that they will be caught. Thank you to those members of the public who provided invaluable information which assisted Police in the recovery of these stolen items,” Detective Senior Sergeant Phillips said.
