Assault - Darwin City - Update#3

The 68-year-old male victim of an assault in Darwin City earlier this month has died.

Detective Sergeant Isobel Cummins of the Major Crime Squad said in the early hours of Saturday morning, 9 August, the victim was involved in an altercation in Mitchell Street. As a result of that altercation the victim fell and struck his head.

“The man was conveyed to Royal Darwin Hospital and passed away Friday, 22 August.

"Police have identified two people involved in the incident however investigations are ongoing and at this stage no arrests have been made.

“Police would still like to speak to anyone who was in Mitchell Street at around 2am, 9 August who may have seen or heard the altercation.

“Police have released CCTV images of three people who were seen in Mitchell Street at the time of the incident. Police would like to speak to these people as they may be able to assist us with our enquiries.”
