A 23-year-old man has been arrested in North Queensland today in relation to the death of a 68-year-old male, who died as a result of an assault that took place in Mitchell Street, Darwin City, on Saturday 9 August.

It is alleged the victim was walking along Mitchell Street when an altercation took place between the two men and the 68-year-old man was struck and fell to the ground. He succumbed to his injuries on 22 August.

Northern Territory Detectives have travelled to Queensland to make application for the 23-year-old man’s extradition to the Northern Territory.
