Man Charged - Deprivation of Liberty - Palmerston

A 29-year-old man is to appear in the Darwin Magistrates Court today following a domestic violence incident in Palmerston on Monday.

Acting Senior Sergeant Justene Dwyer, Officer in Charge of Strike Force Viridian said it is alleged the 29-year-old man drove his 23-year-old female partner along Channel Island Road where she was assaulted.

“Police attended a residence in Moulden a short time later and arrested the man.”

He was charged with:

Deprivation of liberty
Aggravated assault (x2)
Threats to kill
Possess/carry/use controlled weapon
Drive medium range BAC
Drive speed and manner dangerous

He was remanded in custody to appear in court today.
