Strike Force Trident Arrest Five Youths - Palmerston

Strike Force Trident Detectives have arrested five youths in relation to a stolen vehicle that crashed through a fence at a residence in Palmerston on Wednesday night.

Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Stringer said Police allege two males aged 15 and 16 attended a residence in Katherine on Tuesday and stole a handbag and Ford Fiesta.

“The youths drove the vehicle to Palmerston and picked up a 15-year-old male. Police allege the youths attended a service station in Durack and drove off with $50 worth of petrol at around 6am on Wednesday.

“The youths picked up two females aged 13 and 15 at around 6:30pm that day and attended the same service station in Durack. Police allege the youths drove off with a further $53 worth of petrol.

“Later that evening, Police allege the 13-year-old female was driving the Ford Fiesta when she lost control of the vehicle and crashed through a residential fence in Gray before fleeing the scene.

“Police arrested four of the youths yesterday afternoon. They have been charged with a range of property offences and will appear in Darwin Youth Justice Court today.

“Strike Force Trident arrested the fifth offender this morning. The 15-year-old male is expected to be charged later today.”
