Strike Force Disruptor Arrests Three - Tennant Creek

Tennant Creek Police have arrested three alleged offenders for domestic violence assaults.

Superintendent Daniel Bacon said Strike Force Disruptor was formed to combat domestic violence in the Tennant Creek and Barkley region.

“All three arrests were the result of assaults on women over the weekend.

“A 32-year-old male has been charged with two counts of Aggravated Assault, Armed with an Offensive Weapon and Damage to Property following an incident on Saturday morning.

“A 29-year-old man was charged with Aggravated Assault, Disorderly Behaviour and Possess a controlled weapon on Saturday afternoon after allegedly threatening his partner with a knife before assaulting her.

“On Saturday evening Police arrested a 37-year-old man and charged him with Aggravated Assault for injuries caused to his 36-year-old female partner.

Superintendent Bacon said assaults against women were completely unacceptable and Police would take any report of domestic violence seriously.

“As the first Police jurisdiction to be White Ribbon accredited we will continue to make domestic violence against women a priority.

“Officers from Strike Force Disruptor have a clear mission statement to investigate all victim-based crime, be proactive in enforcing any court orders in place and to take a ‘zero-tolerance’ to domestic violence in the region.”

Strike Force Disruptor is an on-going operation.
