Three Youths Charged - Darwin

Strike Force Trident Detectives have charged three youths following the theft of a motor vehicle in Palmerston.

Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Stringer said Police allege the youths stole a Toyota Camry and an iPad from a residence in Rosebery between 8 and 9 September.

“The vehicle came to Police attention on Friday evening as it was being driven around Darwin City with its high beams on.

“Police attempted to apprehend the Toyota Camry however the youths abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene. Two males were located a short time later and were arrested by Police.

“The 16-year-old was charged with aggravated unlawful use of a motor vehicle and driving unlicensed with alcohol in blood. He will appear in Darwin Youth Justice Court on 22 September.

“The 15-year-old was charged with aggravated unlawful use of a motor vehicle, aggravated unlawful entry and stealing, and will appear in court on 10 October.

“Police arrested the third youth on Saturday in possession of stolen credit cards and two sets of keys.

“The 16-year-old was charged with aggravated unlawful entry, stealing (x3), unlawful use of motor vehicle, breach of bail and trespass.”

He will appear in court tomorrow.
