Police are currently investigating an assault between two men which occurred on Groote Eylandt today.

Superintendent Michael Hebb from the Arnhem and Western Division said a domestic related assault occurred between the men, aged 33 and 35 at a residence in Angurugu at 12:30pm.

“As a result of the altercation both men received a number of stab wounds,” Superintendent Hebb said.

“Both men are currently being treated at the Angurugu Health Clinic."

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
