Northern Territory Police have charged a 16-year-old youth with Aggravated Assault and Assault a Worker Causing Harm following an incident at the Palmerston Bus Interchange on September 2.

Acting Commander Daniel Shean said the youth allegedly assaulted a bus driver after he was refused entry onto a bus.

“The bus driver believed the youth was boarding the bus to assault a passenger and attempted to stop him entering.

“Police will allege the youth struck the driver several times before assaulting a passenger.

“The bus driver was transported to RDH with minor injuries.”

Acting Commander Shean said the youth was charged today and will appear in the Darwin Youth Court on October 20, 2014.
