A 39-year-old man is currently in Police custody assisting with enquiries following a firearm incident in Coolalinga this afternoon.

Senior Sergeant Annette Cooper from the Serious Crime Squad said at around 1:00pm Police received reports of a shotgun being discharged within an open area of a car park next to the Stuart Highway.

“Police Officers attended and arrested the man within a short time.

“No one was injured during the incident.”
