Northern Territory Police have arrested a 26-year-old male in Darwin for the alleged supply of drugs to nightclub patrons.

Detective Superintendent Tony Fuller said members of the Metropolitan Patrol Group arrested the man on Mitchell Street in the early hours of Sunday morning and Detectives from the Drug and Organised Crime Squad later assisted with the investigation.

“The man was searched and Police will allege they found 11 tabs of LSD, 31 MDMA (ecstasy) pills and $2,200 cash on his person.

“This is the second male we have arrested in the past week for supplying drugs to patrons of Mitchell Street.

“Obviously he did not get the message that Police are actively targeting this area for drug traffickers”

The man was charged with;

Possess and supply a commercial quantity of a schedule 1 drug

Possess and supply a trafficable quantity of a schedule 2 drug

Possess proceeds of crime

He has been remanded in custody and will appear in the Darwin Magistrates Court this morning.
