Strike Force Vega Detectives have charged a 13-year-old male in relation to property offences and an indecent assault.

Detective Acting Superintendent Peter Malley said the youth allegedly broke into a retail store in the Todd Mall on 14 September and stole backpacks, torches, sunglasses and a knife.

“Police allege the youth also indecently assaulted a 24-year-old female in the Todd Mall on 22 September.

“The following day the youth allegedly broke into a business and stole mobile phones, digital cameras, an electric wheelchair and a laptop.

“Police estimate the youth stole around $3,000 worth of property and caused $1,000 worth of damage.

He was arrested yesterday and charged with:

Aggravated unlawful enter building with intent to commit offence

Stealing

Damage to property

Indecent assault

He will appear in Alice Springs Youth Justice Court today.
